Start with the thing.

You do not need to know the frame, mat, glass, or mounting method yet. Start with what you have.

George's counter

Put it on the counter.

George starts with the piece itself. Everything else comes after.

01 — The piece

What colors, age, texture, and character are already there?

02 — The mat

How much breathing room does it need?

03 — The frame

What should disappear—and what should speak?

Try a direction

The frame recedes. The space around the piece does the work.

A design study—not an inventory selection.

The right frame usually isn't the one you noticed first.

George has been framing in Middletown since 2005.

Some customers walk in knowing exactly what they want.

Others put something on the counter and ask:

“What would you do with this?”

That's where the work starts.

Material library

Material changes everything.

Wood, finish, proportion, glazing, and matting all change how the piece feels before you ever notice the frame itself.

Material directions, not current SKU names.

How the work is built

What's between the artwork and the wall matters.

Acid-free materials
Help protect the work from deterioration over time.
UV-protective glazing
Reduces exposure that can contribute to fading.
Museum glass
High clarity with dramatically reduced reflection.
Thoughtful mounting
Whenever possible, the original piece should be able to come back out again.
Real wood frames
Material and proportion chosen for the piece—not simply whatever is easiest to sell.

Photo restoration

Some photographs deserve another hundred years.

Fading, scratches, missing areas, and color loss do not always mean a photograph is gone.

Revere restores older images digitally, creates a new print, and can frame the finished photograph so it can stay in the family.

The shop

This happens here.

Your piece is not shipped to another production center.

The design conversation happens at Revere. The framing happens at Revere. And if the project is unusual, fragile, oversized, sentimental, or simply difficult, you can talk directly to the person doing the work.

The person at the counter

George Kormos

Owner. Framer. The person you're actually talking to.

George started Revere Picture Framing in 2005.

The work is part craft, part design problem, and part conversation.

Someone might bring in a diploma in the morning, an inherited painting in the afternoon, and a jersey that needs a custom shadowbox before closing.

There is rarely one correct answer.

The job is figuring out what makes the piece feel right.

Bring it in. We'll figure it out together.

I needed to get my grandfathers paintings framed and decided to go to Revere Picture Framing. The owner helped me select the best frames that accentuate the paintings. He is super nice and I really appreciate the care and craftsmanship. The final product came out incredible! This won’t be the last time I will use Revere Picture Framing.

George was wonderful! I went to his shop for the first time with an antique frame that had no glass or backing. He was able to hand cut plexiglass in an oval shape, put a backing on and the tiny screws to hold a photo in. It took almost an hour to do but George persevered.

George was extremely helpful. He spent the time to sit down and make sure the frame and mats for my diploma were what I wanted and that they looked good together. Obviously a seasoned pro in the business and doesn't pressure you into anything.
